While I realize that this does not have a deep effect on our collector car
hobby, it does have some impact on many of us in the hobby. It has
become official on April 27, 2009, that Pontiac Motor Division is going to
be no more. As a diehard Pontiac man it is shame to see my favorite
brand go the way of the Dodo. It is too bad too, as it seemed that they
finally had an idea of what they were going to do with Pontiac when they
decided to make it a RWD only division in GM.
I am not going to go into any details on my opinion of why GM is killing off
Pontiac, but after my time working at the Pontiac dealer, selling non
performance cars like the Aztek, Montana, Vibe, and Sunfire, it was very
apparent to me that GM was clueless as to what Pontiac was all about.
